Vega joined ABC News in 2011 as a Los Angeles-based correspondent. Before that, she was a reporter for ABC’s KGO-TV in San Francisco. She got her start as a print reporter, most recently at the San Francisco Chronicle.

Broadcast journalist Cecilia Vega is leaving ABC to join "60 Minutes" as a correspondent.
CBS announced the move Thursday.
"This is a dream come true. I am beyond honored to join the ranks of this legendary show and to work alongside the best reporters in journalism," said Vega, according to a statement by the network.
Vega joined ABC in 2011 in Los Angeles-based correspondent after spending time at KGO-TV and the San Francisco Chronicle.
She was the lead reporter for Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign, and was recently the chief White House correspondent for ABC, appointed in 2021. She also served as an anchor at "Good Morning America" and the Saturday edition of "World News Tonight."
She will begin working at the newsmagazine in the spring after stepping down at ABC.
"60 Minutes" remains a strong ratings winner for CBS, scoring 11.2 million viewers for its recent interview of Prince Harry earlier this month. Last year, it was the No. 1 primetime news broadcast. So far this season "60 Minutes" has an average of 9 million viewers.
